April 15, 2021Questions can now share the same stimulus (root)
We have been asked by a number of schools in recent months about the ability to use the same stimulus (root) for more than one question. With our recent update, we have now answered this requirement.
This question type has a number of uses. Most of the time, in language tests, students are asked to answer a number of questions based on the same stimulus to assess their reading comprehension and even listening levels.
Our new feature enables users to create a stimulus and reuse it for multiple questions. The stimulus can include text, inserted image, embedded video URL and cropped image from paint or pdf. Users can either select the root of a previously created questions, or choose the option to add child questions for the same stem.
The feature has an additional use; when one of these questions is selected to be added in question basket, all other linked questions which share the same stimulus are automatically included in the test as well. And when you have a test which includes both linked questions and individual questions, and if you select “Shuffle Questions” option, the linked questions will still be presented consecutively, although they will be shuffled between each other.
